The Fiber Painter

Sarah Lopez is a gifted fiber artist who learned how to make her own art yarn in 2020. She is known as the Fiber Painter because she hand-dyes and hand-spins wool into yarn then glues individual pieces of her handmade fiber onto canvas to create whimsical, textured paintings. Through fiber and touch, Lopez connects with the ancestral practices of repair, holding space for pain, while imagining something better for the future.
